Nothing upsets me more than a citizen of the United States so fixated on the issue of gun ownership and pro-life mandates that they are easily swayed by the demagoguery of Fox entertainers. They are so entrenched by the hate bating that they fail to do their homework and verify facts. While so many can easily access http://www.factcheck.org to eliminate the spint, they choose the lazy route and are swayed by the demagoguery of the conservative right. Hitler and Nazi iconography is the farthest example from what they aregue to be as state run socialist form of government. .
The ignorant uninformed choose to judge the administration after less than nine months and expect dramatic change to occur following nearly ten or twelve years of economic inequality of the United States starting with then NAFTA and CAFTA agreements signed into law by President Clinton. We fought on the wrong front leaving a vacuum void of a supposed democratic form of government that has no loyalty to all middle Eastern countries including the small state of Israel. What Obama needs is faith and time to correct the state of the economy and the trust in the American people to value his intelligence that draws upon the knowledge of trained advisers.
I am angered, as a secular Jew who believes that he people of Israel deserve a homeland. Once the British negotiated for the Palestinian land that became Israel in 1948, Jews were exiled from virtually every European and Middle Eastern country who finally had an excuse to banish the Jewish infidel from their country creating a "pure" religious society. President Ahmadinieijad spoke of peace and love throughout the world while, in the same breath, accused the Unite States and Great Britain of stockpiling nuclear warheads for Israel - the warmongering, killers of women and children - the evil Zionist regime. I am offended and outraged that anything reported as accurate or valuable news would report the lies that are perpetrated by a hate monger who refuses to acknowledge the Holocaust and acted to exile the Iranian Jews who where persecuted under Muslim rule.
I engaged this forum to voice a progressive liberal point of view while criticizing the President I voted for and whom I see great potential. However, he must realize that there is no bipartisanship on the other side of the political aisle. I also believe that Jimmy Carter was on the mark and while it is true that the hate mongering of the conservative right takes away from the focus on the actual issue, the references made of President Obama as a Nazi, Hitler or surrounded by race bating conservatives attacked more than the color of his skin. These people attacked every minority - specifically the Jews who were most grievously persecuted throughout history. The symbolic iconography of the Becks, Limbaughs and as far back as the George Wallaces (and David Duks) takes aim at the Jews and the climate in the Middle East. It is time for this president to allocate some definitive time to squashing the hate rhetoric.
I hope my contribution has a larger following of intelligent people who can debate facts rather than ignorant symbolical iconography. Recognize hatred for what it is but don't turn your back on it. It is about race as well as how our government operates. The President must recognize and address the hate mongers of our society if only to show the undecided that the progressive liberal base has the strength of conviction to address the issues and pay tribute to more than the African American who is subjugated by this hate rhetoric.
